To ensure the full potential of IKEA Food is realized, the following ten tasks must be fulfilled:

* Attract visitors to the IKEA Store * Offer a range that appeals to the many people on the market * Strengthen the low price profile of the IKEA Store * Strengthen the quality perception of the IKEA Store * Contribute to a day out for the whole family * Strengthen the Swedish profile of the IKEA Store * Build trust for the IKEA Store amongst guests, co-workers and suppliers * Ensure that IKEA co-worker get a good meal for a low price * Serve the many store visitors * Be efficient and generate a reasonable profit * Guests: * I ensure our guests are always in focus and strive to make them smile. * I meet and serve our guests showing empathy and care. * I am willing to listen and support them with an attitude based on the IKEA values. * I am a good ambassador for the IKEA store in all contact with our guests and I give them a good reason to return again and again. * I see my area through the eyes of our guests and I have a daily dialogue with them to get continuous feedback about their experiences and to learn more about their needs and wants. * I then take action based on their input. * I also give new ideas to my manager on how to continuously improve the meeting with our guests. * I know about the services offered in my store and use this knowledge to help guests. * I contribute to an easy buying process that will make it easy and convenient for our guests to shop in the store at all times throughout the day. * Commercial * I am passionate about my products and actively learn about their content, origins and other benefits. I share this knowledge with my guests and colleagues. * I keep my area of responsibility well maintained throughout the day and also prepare it in readiness for the next day’s business. * I work to ensure that my area of responsibility is clean, tidy, organized, and attractive and inviting at all times. * I contribute to the department’s action plan by taking ownership for my part in its delivery. * I contribute to vitality and take part in in-store activities that are set with my manager. * People * I help and support colleagues when needed and I share my knowledge with them and encourage them to do the same. * I value my colleagues’ ways of working and I learn from those who work differently to me. * I take an active role in my team and co-operate when appropriate with colleagues in other area of the store. * I keep myself informed so that I can perform effectively. * I am responsible for my own development and look to my manager to support me in my development. * Steering the Business * I understand the impact of my actions on the financial results of my area and know which results I have influence over. * I look for more effective ways of working to reduce costs. * Operational * I comply with and follow internal rules, policies and daily operational routines regarding issues like quality, food safety and stock figures as set by my manager. * I execute IKEA store operations and I do my part to make sure that our operations are in line at all times with the Functional Commercial Review standards. * Safety is a top priority and I take action and raise and discuss concerns with a manager as needed. * I ensure any food incident, or potential incident, is reported through CASY and I inform the duty manager.

* High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience required * 0-6 months experience in the food industry or equivalent experience required * Good guest service, and verbal communication skills **Capabilities/Motivation:** * Knowledge and interest in Food and Home Furnishings * Effective verbal and written skills in the English language * Contribute to an environment where the IKEA culture is a strong and living reality that embraces the diversity of coworkers and guests. * Prefer fast-paced, retail work environment * Lifting/Handling Requirements - Ability to frequently move or handle * merchandise/food items throughout the location generally 50 pounds. This may * include bending, stretching, reaching, and lifting on a regular basis. Any manual * lifting over 50 lbs will require the assistance of other co-worker(s) and/or use of * manual lifting equipment. * Ability to work independently and in groups * Standing for most of shift * Walking requirements - freely move across all areas of the location such as sales * floor, stock area, and cashier area. * Operation of IKEA Food equipment and extensive handling of kitchen cutting and * cooking utensils * Able to use a pallet jack safely. * Ability to handle multiple and changing priorities/deadlines and moderate stress * Strong attention to detail in order to maintain Basic Actions and adhere to IKEA * Policies and guidelines * Proficient in the English language - written, verbal, reading skills * Ability to communicate with guests and co-workers and manage moderate stress. * Wear PPE (personal protective equipment) where applicable; and to use small * power tools and related equipment. **Certifications/Language Requirements** * Certification can be obtained within set time period as established by location/manager. * IKEA Food Safety e-learning Certification * State/Local Food Safety Certification (in applicable stores) * IKEA Food Safety e-learning certification must be obtained prior to working in the IKEA * Food Department
