Summary
The successful candidate will be keen to apply strong analytical and communication skills to developing a deep understanding of the fast-paced medical devices and healthcare IT industry, realizing valuable relationships with existing and potential clients, and producing high quality in-depth reports to support the critical business decisions of our customers. The successful candidate will also be required to travel domestically and internationally for research and business development purposes.
Responsibilities
**General Job Duties:** - Develop excellent relationships with medical device and healthcare IT vendors to better understand their perspectives, views, opinions and needs as well as present to them our views, forecasts and advice. - Create high quality quantitative and quality market reports analyzing the status and outlook for the medical device and healthcare IT market. - Work with our global analyst team to co-ordinate viewpoints and align data and forecasts. - Write and distribute regular research notes that analyze latest news and developments in the healthcare technology industry to both clients and press. - Support clients request by providing quick and comprehensive answers to questions about research findings. On-site and by phone presentations are regularly required. - Speak at leading industry events to present our latest forecasts and analysis. - Manage a small team of junior analysts as well as their research output (preferred but not essential) - Work with our global sales and marketing teams to promote our research, and support client renewals to ensure commercial targets are met. - Ensure commercial success of business area by working with internal stakeholders, the wider analyst team and the client base. **Job Complexity / Scope Differentiators:** - Provides innovation in their specific discipline/function and/or areas of modelling and analytic Demonstrates ability to speak to broader issues outside their specific discipline/function - Through knowledge and experience, has achieved external recognition as expert in their specific area Independently interacts with clients on increasingly broad subject areas and/or increasingly sophisticated modelling issues - Continues to broaden knowledge/ expertise in other areas - Stimulates creativity and helps shape research of others - Proposes and develops original ideas - helps to drive the research agenda - Brings to bear diverse background of experience on issue resolution - Evaluates alternative solutions to complex client-specific or functional issues - Contributes to and implements business plan within own area - Leads and implements change within own area - Develops, motivates and mentors staff within own area - Has direct accountability for client relationships and the quality and quantity of own area's output; accountable for major revenue stream. - Shows some characteristics of role model - Understand the behaviors required to succeed - Proactively interacts other functions (commercial, sales, HR and finance)to drive performance - Manages and delivers large scale consulting projects - Delivers on Business Development and sales targets - Has management responsibility for a team of junior to mid-level colleagues (preferred but not essential) - With guidance from upper level management as needed, recommends courses of action related to staffing and compensation admin, performance management, colleague development, engagement and retention for direct team
Ideal Candidate
**Knowledge and Skills:** - Demonstrates ability to effectively manage projects and product lines of moderate size and complexity - Advanced knowledge of MS applications required (Excel, Word and PowerPoint); experience with databases highly preferred. - Advanced oral and written communication skills. - Advanced presentation skills and ability to influence at the management level. - Organization skills including the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. - Contributes to the research agenda **Typical Experience:** - Minimum of 3-4 years of directly related experience within the healthcare technology industry (preferably within a healthcare technology manufacturing company or market research provider covering ) - Experience of market analysis **Education and Certifications:** - University degree (Bachelors or equivalent) in Economics, Statistics, Engineering, Biologic Sciences or related field. - Graduate degree highly desirable **Physical Requirements / Working Environment:** - Ability to physically perform general office requirements. - Must be able to perform essential responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodations. - Regular travel including overnight domestic or international trips may be required.
