Summary
iHeartRadio is looking for a hands-on software development manager to join our content and publication engineering team. The team processes, enriches, transcodes, curates and ultimately publishes millions of songs, videos, and podcasts to our iHeartRadio applications. We ingest hundreds of thousands of tracks monthly for a catalog of over 40 million media products. The team plays a vital role in building and supporting our core content and media platform which supports the foundation of our product and features. If you are interested in managing a team of engineers in a fast-paced agile environment, building amazing products, and reaching tens of millions of users, this is a great place to be. You would be interacting with key stakeholders and work closely with teams such as Data Science, Data Platform, Content Operations as well as the Backend API team. We are highly focused on using the right tools for the job, building decoupled flexible architectures, and giving ownership and responsibility to autonomous teams.
Responsibilities
* Manage a team of engineers who design, develop, test, and deploy scalable media ingestion and real time publication services for music, video, and other content. * Build our next generation multi-tenant Content/Publication platform supporting new products and features. * Facilitate cross team collaboration with software engineering, data engineering, content management, operations and product teams. * Cultivate team members’ career goals and personal growth initiatives. * Represent and communicate team capabilities and engineering priorities across the organization. * Contribute to the codebase, architect and design new systems and participate in code review.
Ideal Candidate
* Experience managing or leading small to medium sized engineering teams in a dynamic environment. * Strong fundamentals with decoupled message based systems and supporting tools development. * Proven track record facilitating and realizing product goals through effective communication across an organization. * Experience in continuous deployment and testing. * Knowledge of algorithms and data structures and how to apply them when designing and building systems. * Solid experience in Python and at least one other programming language. * Experience with SQL/NOSQL systems such as MongoDB, Cassandra, Postgres, etc. * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
