Summary
Reporting to the Head of Marketing & Communications, you will be responsible for developing content for external audiences which creates successful outcomes for the business while building and reinforcing the IEX brand. This is a cross-functional role, as you will be collaborating frequently with internal stakeholders such as the Executive team, Sales, Legal, Compliance, Market Policy, Product, Market Ops, and Ventures.You are proactive, driven, and resourceful with a proven track record of writing content that compellingly conveys value propositions for complex businesses. Your writing connects intellectually, logically and emotionally with any audience.A background in financial services is not necessary, but you should look forward to learning about equity market microstructure, and align with our mission of providing a fair and transparent marketplace for all investors.
Responsibilities
* Communicate our brand and product value propositions to institutional traders on the buyside and sellside, and other strategic audiences, including investors and policy makers * Produce product marketing collateral that is targeted to a specific audience * Pitch story ideas to journalists, producers, bloggers and other media representatives * Create new content for the IEX website that helps differentiate us as a simple, transparent exchange * Help shape and generate new ideas for written editorial content * Assist on other marketing initiatives
Ideal Candidate
**Characteristics of the ideal candidate:** * Proactive problem-solver and communicator * Self-driven * Resourceful * Detailed and thorough * Open-minded and curious * Creative and bold * Collaborative team player **Job Qualifications** * Bachelor’s degree in Communications or Marketing, Master’s preferred * Professional writing experience, specifically in a B2B environment * Demonstrated ability to “pitch” a story verbally and via written word to publishers * Experience working in financial services is preferred, but the desire to learn the basics of the stock markets is a must have.
