Responsibilities
**Job Duties and Responsibilities:** * Performs the more complex and specialized mechanical and/or electrical tests on product components or series of components * Develops special purpose instrumentation and/or shop or laboratory test equipment * Maintains records on work performed, analyzes data collected and reports results * Recommends revisions to product or component design * Maintains good housekeeping, safety practices and supplies * Coordinates and exchanges findings with engineering personnel outside work group on an occasional basis **Specific Responsibilities of this Position:** * Work within Instrumentation support group performing calibrations and repairs in an automotive laboratory environment * Electronics engineering technologies * Strong mechanical aptitude * Work in lab environment to do emissions testing on automobiles * Servicing equipment that is used to generate test data * Ability to perform calibrations, strong mechanical skills, * Looking for more technical engineering background for problem solving and root cause analysis and to be able to perform calibrations easily.
Ideal Candidate
**Required Skills/Experience:** * Familiarity with the more complex mechanical and/or electrical concepts - 3+ years experience * Knowledge of basic math - 3+ years experience * Ability to read engineering drawings - 3+ years experience * Position related experience - 3+ years experience * Relevant auto industry experience required - Entry level (<1 year) * Past Client work experience required - Entry level (<1 year) * Areas of expertise include: Quality, Testing and Automotive systems **Required Education/Training:** * High School Diploma or GED * Associates Degree or equivalent training **Additional information:** * Associates degree preferred * Mechatronics * Mechanical background is a plus * Group works on vehicle test sites, calibrations and repairs * We do not typically work on vehicles * Looking for more technical / scientific background * Problem solving skills preferred, programable logic controllers (PLC's)
