Senior Health Communications Manager

This position will be located at ICF’s Rockville office and will report to a senior leader in the health communications line of business. Occasional domestic travel may be required.

* Lead contract teams in the development and implementation of communication plans, messages, materials, and program strategies to reach diverse audiences. * Serve as an advisor to internal and external clients, including leading strategic discussions and problem solving, most particularly related to media relations, stakeholder outreach and engagement, and internal agency communications. * Provide subject matter expertise and thought leadership to bring creative solutions to the program. * Strong ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining a high quality of work. * Conduct planning, research, implementation, and assessment of all project elements. * Work collaboratively across ICF to leverage capabilities, talent, and knowledge. * Work with the group leader and other managers to identify a pipeline of new business opportunities and develop proposals.

* BA/BS degree in public health, health communication, social sciences or equivalent * 15 +years of experience managing Federal Health communications contracts. * Demonstrated experience in strategic communications to support public health programs and issues. * Experience managing diverse teams, including researchers, analysts, writers, and creative staff. * Proposal writing and management and business development skills. **Professional Skills:** * Excellent verbal, written, organizational skills and ability to interface effectively with all levels of the company. * Strong project management, negotiation, strategic thinking, and analytical skills. * Ability to think creatively and provide innovative solutions to clients’ communications challenges/problems. * Ability to plan and manage budgets for multiple tasks. * Ability to work both independently and as an effective team member to meet deadlines.
