Senior Database Specialist

ICF seeks a Database Specialist. In this role, you will work with a client at their site and will collaborate with Data warehouse & BI teams to help build the Enterprise Data Warehouse. The role will evolve as you gain expertise and there will also be occasional local travel for client meetings.
- Assists with system analysis and data analysis tasks required to build the Enterprise Data warehouse.
- Review and evaluate business specifications to determine their feasibility, implementation, and compatibility with current systems and architecture standards
- Work with multiple stakeholders to understand the business processes, analyze the operational systems and correlate the relevant data entities/attributes.
- Participate in full life-cycle development activities
- Ability to take high level business/functional requirements and break it down to detailed technical requirements
- Identify data quality and integrity issues. Provide resolution recommendations after performing in depth analysis of issues
- Create necessary automation scripts to re-use analytic suites
- Develop deliverables including detailed documents for all analysis activities. This will include source data mapping with business definitions and other relevant metadata.
- Use data modeling tools for documenting and publishing data dictionaries. Work closely with the data architecture team.
- BS degree in Information Systems or related field
- 5+ years of data analysis
- 3+ years of experience in a business systems analysis role
- Demonstrated strong SQL experience for data manipulation
- Strong knowledge of RDBMS’s like Sybase, MS-SQLServer and Oracle
- Experience in a data warehousing environment
- Experience requiring the ability to balance and prioritize multiple projects to meet goals, deliverables, and deadlines

- Experience working collaboratively and cohesively in a team environment Ability to think creatively to resolve complex problems
- Clear and professional communication skills
- Good know-how connecting structured and unstructured data
- Good know-how of common ETL techniques for data integration and transformation
- Familiarity with tools like SAS, OBIEE, Talend, PL/SQL
- Agile experience preferred
- Federal Experience preferred
- Flexible and Comfortable with uncertainty in requirements etc. in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment
- Team player, strong organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task
