Senior Software Developer Lead for Datastore Infrastructure

Hulu’s Core team is seeking a strong Senior Software Developer Lead or Software Manager who will lead and manage the Datastore Infrastructure Team. The DSI team is in charge of building high-performance and scalable datastores that power all of Hulu’s backends. The right person for this role will lead the team of software engineers in building systems that are optimized for scalability, efficiency, quality and uptime. Strong communications skills and leading by example are great traits that leads at Hulu possess. If you are someone who gets excited with sub-millisecond service response time, building fault-tolerant systems at data center level, knowing all new NoSql, SQL and big data technologies, then this is a great opportunity for you.

* Build a world-class software development team through a combination of training, career development, recruiting, and process improvement. * Define and lead the adoptions of best practices and processes. * Collaborate efficiently with PM and other developers to build datastores as a service to power our next generation video services. * Collaborate with senior internal team members and external stakeholders to gather requirements and drive implementation. * Experiment with new technologies to make sure we can scale for the future.

* BS or MS in Computer Science/Engineering. * 5+ years of relevant software engineering experience. * Demonstrated ability to attract talent, build teams and have fun. * Excellent Java, Python or similar (C++, C#) development skills. * Strong passion about automation, testing, and code quality. * Great communication and collaboration skills and a team-focused approach towards software development.
