System Software Engineer Internship

As a System Software Engineer, you will join an industry-leading organization and get engaged in the assessment of business applications and/or information systems solutions for external customers. You will have the opportunity to work with a global engineering and marketing team to perform competitive analysis, identify business software requirements, create documentation, test and demonstrate various business software to various team members. Aligning with the company’s technical career path, the company offers you both vertical and horizontal growth in engineering, and services.

* Development projects: * Gather and analyze business requirements from various software core teams * Gain understanding of current software offerings * Perform competitive analysis with other OEM software offerings * Create demos and documentation/slides that compare and contrast HP offerings against competitors * Execute appropriate tests needed to perform competitive analysis * Assist Software Core Team Leaders to provide critical data needed for strategic planning * Run quality reports on existing HP Software for data analytics * Research industry wide software trends (current/future) * Provide recommendations for key software investments

**Education and Experience Required:** * High School Degree 3rd Year of University completed-typically a technical degree specialization * Course work in marketing, computer science, software engineering, computer engineering, information systems, or related fields * Market analysis of software and technologies * Software programming knowledge of and/or experience with one or more of the following: independent code line over 20,000, Java, Java Script, C, C++, C#, VB.Net * Application development knowledge of and/or experience with databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, and experience with Linux shell script and Windows programming * Test engineering knowledge * Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions * Passion for software and technology * Eager, quick learner with strong team-work spirit * Excellent oral and written English communication skills
