Building and Grounds Technician

Responsible for maintaining and inspecting open property, buildings, equipment, utilities, furnishings, and grounds. Assumes direct responsibility for maintenance and landscaping of assigned areas. Performs preventative maintenance, makes minor repairs, and supervises, directs, and assists outside service personnel and vendors as needed. Reports major repair and maintenance needs to the Facilities Director.

* Knowledge of janitorial equipment and maintenance procedures. * High school graduate or equivalent. * Driver’s License. * High school graduate or equivalent. * Previous maintenance experience. * Good mechanical and problem solving abilities. * Well organized and able to work well independently. * Able to coordinate well with others and professionally assist others as needed. * Attentive to detail. * Able to operate drills, electrical tools, welder, meters, timers, hand tools, snowplow, salt/sand spreader truck, and all related machinery. Climbing: Includes ladders, scaffolding, ramps, poles, etc.
