Do you like to make people’s lives better by taking their tedious and boring tasks and automating them like some sort of testing superhero? Do you enjoy working with a bunch of smart people in a fun, challenging and growing environment? If so, then you might be the right fit to become HookLogic’s newest QA Engineer. As QA Engineer you will work closely with the product and engineering teams to test our web based software applications before and after deployment. Your job will be to help own the Quality Assurance process throughout the entire Software Development Lifecycle in order to verify our software meets the desired functional requirements, through both manual and automated testing techniques.
Responsibilities
Working closely with key stakeholders to: * Insure that software meets all Business/Product requirements * Validate that deployments are bug-free by utilizing integration, system, and functional testing * Work closely with the HookLogic Product and development teams to ensure on time delivery * Troubleshoot issues when they arise in all development environments (DEV, UAT, PRODUCTION) Expand the team’s test automation repository and capabilities: * Develop scalable scripting processes * Coding of automated test scripts using programming languages with recommended coding standards and best-practices * Increase the breadth and depth of the existing test automation framework * Utilize the latest open source automation technologies to supplement the existing tool suite
Ideal Candidate
**A qualified candidate should meet the following required qualifications:** * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, technical field, or equivalent work experience * Experience with test automation tools (SOAPUI, Selenium, etc.) or equivalent development experience * Entrepreneurial tendencies, and the unrelenting need to find a better way to do things * Self-motivator with strong work ethic and the ability to multitask * Desire to be a part of the high paced, high energy, startup experience * Have a “can-do” positive attitude and the willingness to keep your hands dirty **Not required but preferred candidates may have the following previous experience:** * 3 or more years QA experience testing web-based applications (preferably on JavaScript based solutions) * Working in an Agile/Scrum environment * Know what Jira is, and how to use it * Wicked Ping Pong, dart, and/or foosball skills a plus
