Summary
Must be within 50 miles of Fort Bragg, NC. This position performs tasks related to maintenance of Fire Alarm systems such as replacing components, wiring circuits, repairing simple electronic equipment. Applies basic and some advanced technical knowledge to solve routine problems by interpreting manufacturers’ manuals or similar documents. Work requires familiarity with the interrelationships of circuits and judgment in planning work sequence, in selecting tools, testing instruments, and is reviewed for compliance with accepted practices.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibility is to conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical components on Fire Alarm Systems on a military installation. * Maintains and repairs electronic components, equipment or systems for commercial, military, or scientific applications. * Inspects electronic equipment, instruments, products, and systems to ensure conformance to specifications, safety standards, and quality standards. * Analyzes systemic failure data and trends to determine causes of problems and develops solutions.
Ideal Candidate
**Qualifications** * Associate’s degree in Engineering Technology or related field, or military technical training program, or completion of technical institute program and 1 year of related experience. * 5 years’ experience with preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance of Fire Alarm Systems preferred. * Must be NICET Level II certified on Fire Alarm Systems. * Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance. * 10% travel. **Experience with the following Equipment desired:** * Fire Alarming, Suppression, and Detection Systems * Fire Sprinkler Systems * Fire Pumps (Electric and Diesel) and Controllers * Interior Mass Notification Systems * Delta 1000 FS90 Graphic * Enterprise Buildings Integrator (EBI), Monaco D2100 monitoring system * Receiving/Monitoring equipment associated with the addressable fire alarm systems * Fire Extinguishers * Halon-FM 200 System * Standpipes * Honeywell and Monaco fire alarm servers and workstations * Antennas, repeaters, cables connected to fire alarm systems **Attributes/Skills Required/Sought:** * Ability to innovate solutions using available tools and resources. * Ability to effectively communicate with customers in the resolution of problems. * Skill in leading projects. Preferred have completed the 30-hour OSHA Construction safety class or as an equivalent, 30 hours of formal construction safety and health training covering the subjects of the OSHA 30-hour applicable to the work to be performed and given by qualified instructors.
