Vice President of Corporate Strategy

HomeAway, an Expedia brand, is the world's leader in vacation rentals with sites representing more than 1 million online bookable vacation rental listings. Through HomeAway, owners and property managers offer an extensive selection of vacation homes that provide travelers with memorable experiences and benefits, including more room to relax and added privacy, for less than the cost of traditional hotel accommodations.

HomeAway is looking for a Vice President of Corporate Strategy to help chart and navigate a clear course for industry leadership. This path will be grounded in helping HomeAway grow a sophisticated two-sided marketplace. A key to this growth is leading the ongoing integration efforts between HomeAway and its parent company, Expedia, Inc., to find the points of greatest leverage. HomeAway has also historically used strategic investments to help it grow its marketplace. As such, this journey could include work on opportunistic acquisitions and investments.

* Collaborate with HomeAway’s executive and senior management teams to develop HomeAway’s strategic priorities * Lead collaboration between HomeAway and Expedia, Inc. * Derive insights from internal and external data that enable corporate, regional and business unit leadership to make critical business and investment decisions * Work effectively across all business and support functions at HomeAway (i.e., Executive management, Analytics, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Product and Technology, etc.) to coordinate activities and lead strategic projects * Coordination/orchestration of projects or commitments directly involving the President and the leadership team

* 10+ years of relevant experience in a combination of top tier consulting, investment banking and internal strategy roles * Experience leading people in a collaborative, cross-functional project setting with or without direct reporting relationships * Experience in marketplace/internet companies strongly preferred * Experience in travel and/or vacation rentals a strong plus * An MBA from a top program strongly preferred * Repeated experience coordinating and conducting the strategy process * Exceptional analytic horsepower to drive analysis * The ability to communicate complex business problems and insights to a wide audience * A senior management perspective with solid interpersonal, communication and presentation skills * A high tolerance for ambiguity and ability to work towards action despite incomplete information * A real passion for the travel and vacation rental industries
