Regulatory Technologist

* Assures regulatory compliance of all labels, cases and promotional material with applicable rules and regulations of USDA & FDA * Reviews and approves ingredient statements – confirming all ingredients to ensure regulatory compliance and potential allergen concerns * Contacts suppliers for ingredient information – raw material specification sheets * Learns the operations to provide technical support to production, QA, R&D, sales, consumer affairs, and customers * Gains USDA approval on all applicable products and obtain extensions when required * Provides proper documentation on short notice to ensure that all products may be released to sell in a timely manner * Creates product specifications for all products and keeps them up-to-date * Maintains documentation of work as required * Maintains a safe working environment and participates actively in safety programs * Monitors all HACCP requirements and regulations * Performs other duties as assigned by manager

* Bachelor of Science degree in food science or at least 5 years of experience in the food manufacturing industry * 1-4 years of related experience with a food or beverage company in regulatory compliance * Critical knowledge of USDA/ FDA regulations * Strong organizational skills * Strong interpersonal skills; team player * Strong written and oral communication skills * Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure, fast-paced, environment * Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office—Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook * Knowledge of CFIA regulation a plus!
