About Hobby Lobby
In 1970, entrepreneurs David and Barbara Green, along with their young family, began making miniature picture frames in their garage. A few years later, on August 3, 1972, the Green family opened the first Hobby Lobby store with a mere 300 square feet of retail space. Hobby Lobby has not stopped growing since.
Summary
Do you have a portfolio that demonstrates a finely tuned eye-for-design and an imaginative sense of color? Do your designs incorporate attention-grabbing composition and layout along with innovative typography? Are you a team player with a mind for marketing and a pulse on cutting-edge designs and trends? Are you a Graphic Designer who's ready and willing to meet the design demands of a growing company? Sound like something you may be interested in? If so, the Art/Creative department of Hobby Lobby may have an opportunity for you. This is a full-time position located at our corporate offices in Oklahoma City and no relocation assistance provided. Out of state and freelance work is not available for this position.
Responsibilities
* Have a hand in developing exclusive products to be sold in Hobby Lobby stores. * Create packaging that jumps off Hobby Lobby shelves and holds its own against big name competitors. * Be challenged by a diverse workload that could include anything from nationally distributed promotional materials to corporate posters and bulletins (in addition to designing cutting-edge products and packaging). * Work in a state of the art Mac environment, housed in a brand new, see-it-to-believe-it facility. * Juggle multiple projects under the pressure of deadlines. * Create designs to satisfy an incredibly diverse array of project objectives. * Collaborate with team members to meet (and exceed) the needs and expectations of the company.
Ideal Candidate
* Have a bachelor's degree in graphic design. * Have some professional design experience. * Know the Adobe Creative Suite forwards and backwards, especially Illustrator and Photoshop. * Have top notch organizational and time management skills, enhanced by ruthless attention to detail. * Have a feel for marketing trends and consumer behavior, and know how to apply that knowledge to everything you design. * Have a knack for working with a team. * Be able to accept critiques and/or feedback. * Be comfortable in a demanding, fast-paced work environment. * Possess classic illustration skills - basic to breathtaking. * Have a work ethic that makes it clear that you love every minute of what you do. * Have strong typography skills.
