Summary
Our Houston, Texas office is seeking candidates for an Transportation Engineer III for their transportation department. This individual will also have the opportunity to play a pivotal role in preparation and completion of current and upcoming engineering designs that are responsive to project needs.
Responsibilities
* Will be responsible for working with technical teams toward the production of planning assignments. * Will interact with the TxDOT Project Manager and staff, project team including sub-consultants, Metropolitan Planning Organizations, regional and local planning agencies, and the FHWA. * May interact with the on-site client and sub-consultants, including planners, environmental specialists, engineers, public involvement specialists and GIS analysts and will also interact with TxDOT District and Division staff, FHWA, and MPOs on various planning projects. * Assist with developing work authorizations, budgets, workplans, schedules, and strategies for current and upcoming projects. * Responsible for overseeing the work of sub-consultants. * Responsible for preparation of technical reports for planning studies. * Responsible for developing scopes of work, budgets, and schedules. * Responsible for roadway and highway engineering designs. * Supervises, schedules and checks work of project team members. * Work closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects. * Responsible for productivity of subordinates and on time, on budget projects. * Responsible for the development of plans, specifications and reports as needed * Calculates and developing cost estimates.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required. * 5 or more years of roadway design experience or structural experience. * Texas PE Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months required * Microstation and roadway design software expertise. InRoads and Geopak experience preferred
