Summary
We are searching for a Seafood Procurement Manager to become the newest member of the Aquaculture Procurement team. As we look to the future, now is the time to place an exceptional candidate that strives to become a leader within the organization and the seafood industry. In this high profile position, you will be a critical member of the Procurement team. The Seafood Procurement Manager is responsible for the effective procurement of aquaculture raw materials and finished products from suppliers throughout the world. It involves daily contact with sales, marketing, production, and quality control. This role also involves regular exchange with senior management in both the USA and Canada, as well as building relationships and managing our global supply base.
Responsibilities
* Overseeing the purchasing and supply chain management of Salmon or Shrimp in order to meet our demand requirements at the best possible cost. * Partnering with our commercial sales and marketing teams to drive growth in your category. * Working with finance to provide cost modeling and budgeting of future supply. * Maintaining open, positive relationships with the senior leadership team, other divisions of the organization, and different geographic locations within the company. * Ensuring procurement processes meet stringent compliance requirements - suppliers, customers and regulatory bodies. * Acting as a subject matter expert by educating internal and external customers on seafood, sustainability, and supply chain management. * Traveling globally as necessary, to visit our suppliers and represent the company within the industry, with the balance of your time collaborating in a High Liner office environment.
Ideal Candidate
* 5-10 years of supply chain or procurement leadership experience. * An entrepreneurial attitude with the ability to act autonomously. * The ability to build a business and drive category growth. * A strong capability to influence, where you enjoy using your negotiation and supplier development skills to achieve company goals. * A proven track record of academic achievement with a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a related field - preferably paired with an advanced degree or MBA. * The need to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment. * The desire to work with and contribute to a high performing team. * A passion for seafood!
