Summary
Limited Term CalWIN Applications Architect for Business Rules Engine (BRE) large, highly visible project. Required to be On-site in Roseville, California. The Application Eligibility Program Software and Rules Architect will be responsible to define the structure of the system, its interfaces, and the principles that guide its organization, software design and implementation. This resource will work with the program and project managers in managing technical risks and ensuring that the solution services are delivered by the underlying technology components.
Responsibilities
The Applications Architect will be responsible to define the structure of the rules system, its interfaces and software design and implementation. Ideally, the rules architect will not only have technical knowledge of all the different aspects of the technical solution, but will have knowledge of the business domain, social services eligibility programs to assist with the identification and implementation of business rules within the domain. * Engage with client Subject Matter Experts (SME’s) / chief technologist, and eligibility program experts to understand risk areas / project requirements * Develop relationships with business owners and SME’s to align business rules with pre-existing regulations and standards * Design / Architect rules solution for client problem domain, to include invocation of the Corticon Rules Engine from within MicroFocus COBOL or native java environment * Create Rules Vocabulary, Rules Architecture Functional Design, Construct Class Hierarchy and Object Models, Define Test Strategy * Work with SMEs, technical solution architects to load derived rules into the Corticon Rules Engine * Derive and enforce best practices in rules architecture / design / coding * Provide technical leadership to project team * Provide expertise in technical knowledge and understanding of architecture, application systems design and integration with several enterprise wide deployment * Recommend toolsets, approaches and techniques for integration needs, factoring in cost, quality, speed and risk * Collaborate with IT application leads to ensure architectural solutions will work in the current systems environment without harm and will meet requirements * Collaborate with IT architectural team and HPE leadership to define new guidelines, best practices and governance strategies * Lead architectural and solution review and design meetings on a regular basis * Develop architectural diagrams for project and customer review
Ideal Candidate
**Required / Experience and Qualifications:** * Experience in technology leadership roles (Technical Architect, Infrastructure Architect) as well as significant experience in delivery within an IT environment * Ability to think strategically and plan as well as work at the detailed level * Risk analysis of technical products and services * Strong communication, problem-solving and leadership skills * 5 years of hands-on SDLC experience in large scale systems, experience with rules methodology, frameworks (TOGAF), development methodologies (Agile, SDLC, Iterative) strongly preferred * In-depth theoretical understanding and practical expertise with regards to enterprise information management systems * Prior experience in large enterprise environments delivering design and implementation of business rule-based solutions * Expertise in Integration and Business Rule technologies (Corticon preferred) and Middleware tools * Excellent object-oriented analysis and design skills and system integration skills. * Technical mastery in OOO, SOA, ESB CSA concepts and design patterns. * Experience designing and developing process based solutions or BPM (business process management) * Experience in various rules and features like Flows, Activities, User Interface, Flow Actions, Agents, SLA, Correspondence, Single-Sign-On, External Authentication, Connectors and SOAP Services * Experience with enterprise Class Structure design and Rule sets design * Ability to work and communicate effectively with programmers and other IT staff and non-IT functional areas **Team:** Leadership * How many members are in the team? - 10 to 15 project team, potential more team members * Where is the team located? – Roseville, California * A Team Player * Sense of responsibility and urgency; Assertiveness of knowledge **Preferred:** * Distinctive competencies in the area of object-oriented analysis and design skills and system integration skills.
