About Help Scout
Help Scout provides your team with a scalable help desk, while keeping the customer experience simple and personalized. Customers won't have to create an account or keep track of their ticket number because to them it works just like email.
Summary
As Help Scout’s resident wordsmith, you’ll use your passion for prose to help us refine our style and speak with substance. We have more than 300,000 readers visiting our blog and resources every month, and we need your help maintaining the sky-high standards on our ambitious editorial calendar. We have a unique approach to publishing; “churning out content” just isn’t our style. Our writers have a voice on and off the page—you’ll collaborate with an enthusiastic team that will support you with creative assets and anything else you need to make the work great!
Responsibilities
- You understand that great output requires great input—much of your day will be spent reading and researching topics in order to find fresh, authentic ways to help our readers succeed. - You're not scared of crafting long-form resources, video scripts, or writing for presentations. - You recognize that "content" is a crowded space. It's going to be your job to make sure any compelling piece of writing gets in front of the right people. - You’re not intimidated by connecting with others to promote your ideas. - You’ll talk to subject matter experts and turn their ideas into thought-provoking writing. Whether through interviews, case studies, or customer stories, you’ll consistently pull out the most compelling facts and insights from every conversation you have. - We believe strategy is a team sport. You’ll work closely with the marketing team to plan and develop new angles and avenues for our content.
Ideal Candidate
- You are an exceptional writer, with the ability to grasp complex ideas and explain them in plain language. - When writing blog posts, guides, or social media copy, you work hard to make every word matter. - Your style is friendly and engaging, and contains just the right amount of humor. - You have an infectious enthusiasm for technology and business, and this isn’t your first rodeo. - As such, you’ve had experience in a content role for a SaaS company, or you’ve written about business for several serious publications (bonus points for having a journalism background). - You enjoy being involved in several projects, and are talented at managing expectations and your own time. - You love collaborating across teams and are personable, helpful, and incredibly organized. - You work well with a lot of freedom and do your best work in a culture that has a maximum of three meetings per week.
