Summary
National Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) is seeking an In-House Real Estate Attorney to provide legal support to the leasing team. The position is based out of the Company’s Scottsdale corporate office.
Responsibilities
* Counsel will have responsibility for national leasing documentation, including drafting and negotiating lease transaction documents (including leases with large health systems and national tenants), as well as handling internal lease processes and other leasing and project operations related documents. * Successful candidate must be able to draft and negotiate lease transaction and related documents in a high volume, time sensitive environment while also communicating with leasing professionals in local offices. * In addition to primary lease documents, Counsel will also negotiate and structure consents to assignments and subleases, access and license agreements, collateral lien waiver and lender access agreements, service agreements, billboard leases, satellite and telecom agreements, subordination agreements, commission and listing agreements, brokerage license agreements and other similar items. * Other duties as assigned.
Ideal Candidate
* The candidate should have JD degree from an accredited law school in U.S. and 5 years of extensive Real Estate leasing experience similar to scope to the described responsibilities. * Experience working either at a large in-house legal department or at a medium to large law firm is preferred. * Superior written and verbal communication skills required. * Must have exceptional interpersonal skills, a commitment to professionalism, integrity and the ability to work on a wide range of legal matters. * Must have strong PC skills with Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, Access and Outlook).
