Senior Internal Auditor

Day to Day Duties - Collaborates with other departments in the company, including but not limited to Compliance and Ethics, Legal, and Medicare Programs to identify regulatory risks - Assists management in identifying Medicare and other regulatory compliance-related risks for inclusion in the annual audit plan - Develops the audit plan (purpose, scope, and objectives) using a risk-based methodology for management approval. - Assesses current processes and reporting capabilities for risk levels and related internal controls, in order to evaluate the company’s regulatory compliance - Summarizes conclusions of audit work. - Completes audit testing, documentation, and reporting in a timely manner and in accordance with Audit Methodology and professional standards. - Performs follow-up audits as required to assess improvement on previous findings. - Participates in final report preparation Leads exit conference discussions with Plan management and staff - Assists external auditors and independent accountants during their review/audit of Plan activities.

Minimum Education/ Licensures/Qualifications - CPA or Certified Internal Auditor - Degree in Business or Accounting - 4+ years Internal Auditing experience - Some type of experience with Medicare, more than likely we will need to find candidates from the managed care world. - Familiar with published auditing standards, information systems, and statistical sampling techniques. - Thorough knowledge of auditing concepts, internal controls, and the ability to recognize operational deficiencies. - Must possess a strong understanding of Medicare laws and regulations and knowledge of Medicare operations - Familiar with regulatory agencies, such as CCIIO, CMS, HHS, etc and the related guidance and audit requirements.
