Summary
The RN House Supervisor coordinates activities on the afternoon and night shifts as the administrative for all departments.
Responsibilities
* Accountable for adhering to ORMC mission, including meeting behavioral expectations (compassion, caring and confidentiality), providing excellence in health care delivery, supporting dignity of all persons (empowerment) and responsible stewardship of resources. * Coordinates the staffing of the nursing units. * Communicates with a variety of personalities, in person, in writing and by telephone. * Coordinates emergency preparedness activities until the appropriate individuals arrive in order to maintain a calm, organized response. * In the absence of hospital administration, assumes administrative responsibilities as necessary which includes dealing with physicians, hospital employees, patients, families, visitors and community agencies during their shift. * Demonstrates the ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of the needs of the patients, possesses knowledge of growth and development and has an understanding of the range of treatment needed for patient groups. * Demonstrates the ability to make sound decisions through listening, assessing, analyzing, planning, coordinating, and delegating. * Functions well in stressful situations. * Follows guidelines maintaining for one’s self, patients, visitors and co-workers and if classified as a category I or II employee under OSHA regulations, adheres to OSHA standards by wearing personal protective equipment, following universal precautions and being knowledgeable about blood born pathogens. * Performs others duties as may be assigned.
Ideal Candidate
* RN licensure of Utah. * Preferably holds a BSN or Management Degree. * 3 years clinical experience with some supervisory experience preferred. ACLS preferred.
