Summary
* Reporting to the Application Development Manager, this position is responsible for building, integrating, and maintaining software applications within the Harvard Kennedy School (HKS) environment.
Responsibilities
* Design, development and implementation of business applications built on the .Net platform. * Document and manage technical requirements, design, architecture, features, specification, code and deployment of existing and new applications. * Assist in the creation and maintenance of methodologies, standards and guidelines impacting application development. * Provide effort estimates and assist in the development of project timelines. * Work closely with business analysts and business owners to define requirements and prototype and build solutions * Work with DBA to support the integration of 3rd party applications into the HKS environment.
Ideal Candidate
* 3+ years of experience with web applications development using ASP.NET and C# or VB.NET **Additional Qualifications** * Additional Preferred Qualifications: * Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Computer Sciences. * Strong understanding of Design Patterns and Object Oriented Programming * Strong SQL knowledge, particularly Microsoft SQL Server 2005+ and SQL Server Management Studio. * Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills. * Ability to read and understand code written by others. * Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript * Strong written and verbal communication skills. * Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with team members and product owners. * Familiarity with SharePoint, SharePoint based applications and Microsoft Office * Knowledge of AJAX, XML, and XSLT * Experience with source code control systems. * Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services
