Responsibilities

Manage he’s overall marketing efforts to code, deploy, and maintain content and functionality on the he Educators marketing web site.

  • Work closely with the Marketing Director, web producers, and Marketing Communications Manager and Higher Education Technology team to improve the web site through the development of new features (or improvement of existing features) that meet HBP HE strategic goals and customer needs.
  • Create and maintain solid working relationships with stakeholders from different internal departments and manage/coordinate projects across multiple departments.
  • Execute on any tasks required for web development–requirements gathering, usability research, copywriting, input on user flow and impact on other aspects of the business.
  • Actively seek out user feedback on new and existing features to inform web updates. Be an advocate for the customer, particularly regarding web site usability.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert and evangelist of the HE web site for internal and external constituents. This includes working with sales as needed with occasional travel to demo the web site for key customers or to lead sessions at academic conferences.
  • Can also include leading recurring webinars on how to use the site, from search to user role benefits to building coursepacks. Act as the point of contact for all questions relating to functionality, finding content, look and feel, and plan for updates.
  • Oversee the consistency of all written/visual communication on the site in terms of language, style, and message.
  • Manage and execute web updates for non-discipline-specific page updates on the HBP Educators web site: scheduling projects; writing and editing; making regular and frequent updates to pages; monitoring the online customer experience.
  • Use web analytics to inform marketing plans, optimize web pages, and drive meaningful and measurable site traffic. Fill gaps in analytics as needed.
  • Work closely with internal Creative Center or web design freelancers on design needs for the site.
  • Assist in the development of annual web marketing roadmap and continuously execute on those plans.
Ideal Candidate

Knowledge Required:

  • A strong knowledge of best practices in marketing, branding, web development, and customer data.
  • A sound understanding of the academic environment, particularly undergraduate business, MBA, eMBA, and Executive Education.
  • A current understanding of business trends, issues, and innovations as they relate to management education.

Education:

  • Undergraduate or masters level degree in business, marketing, education, or related technical field or 5 years of comparable business experience.

Special Skills or Experience:

  • 3-5 years experience in web project management managing web projects end-to-end.
  • Experience with content management systems, HTML and web analytics.
  • Knowledge of Endeca Search back end a plus.
  • Work within Agile development process – eventually as Product Owner
  • Ability to deal effectively with all levels of management and academia
  • Approach projects and tasks with tenacity and perseverance; work through obstacles in a determined manner
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Good technical understanding and can pick up new tools quickly.
  • Ability to think proactively, suggest solutions, and manage multiple deadline-driven projects simultaneously
  • Strong negotiation skills
