Summary

Harrison Frazer is working with a market-leading biotechnology company to fill the position of IC Consumables Product Marketing Manager. The successful candidate will be an integral part of the product management team. The mission is to promote innovative consumables products to bring their successful business to a new level. Working within cross-functional development teams, you will use the marketing plan as a directional guide as you create marketing programs to accelerate market growth. Their consumables and instruments enable customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer, and you will play a significant role in it.

This position will provide an opportunity to utilize and enhance your skills in:

  • Analyse their IC consumables business to identify new growth opportunities

  • VOC to identify unmet customer needs

  • Develop compelling content for marketing messaging and campaigns

  • Develop position and promotional materials for the Commercial team

Responsibilities

*Marketing Program Development – Determine which solutions are needed for their markets. Determine marketing tactics to promote IC Consumables products, ensure that proper collateral is available to deliver the programs.

*Collect Voice of the Customer (VOC) and Market Trends – Identify, document and communicate why customers buy and how they use IC Consumables products. Provide feedback on new features needed in a market to the product lines. Identify, document and communicate market trends to all parts of the organization.

  • Competitive Analysis – Perform a competitive landscape analysis and prepare material for internal distribution.

  • New Product Development (NPD) – Assess needs of vertical markets and create solutions that will gain market share. Provide requirements to IC Consumables Product Managers and R&D teams.

  • Pricing – Work with commercial organization and regional market managers to ensure local pricing is most impactful and aligned with marketing positioning strategy.

  • Market Management – Determine which segments of the market to focus. Develop positioning and supporting material to market complete solutions of our targeted products.

  • Application Selection and Development – Identify key applications that are emerging and important to the product. Work with key opinion leaders to collaborate with to develop these applications and maintain the applications funnel.

  • New Product Introduction (NPI) – Create the value proposition for new product introductions and validate with key customers. Develop and implement key promotional campaigns based on the VP to grow the business. Create material and deliver training for NPI. Responsible for execution of NPI plan and targets

  • Sales Training – Create and deliver training material to the sales organization to keep current on market trends, products, positioning by segment and customer.

  • Other miscellaneous duties as assigned. *Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.

Ideal Candidate

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Biological Sciences or equivalent. MBA with focus on marketing preferred.

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience of marketing consumable products with analytical instruments or related technologies.

  • Strong track record of accelerating growth of a mature consumables business.

  • Experience with chromatography especially ion chromatography is a strong plus.

  • Exemplary leadership experience on cross-functional and cross-organizational teams; cross-regional experience is highly desirable.

  • Demonstrated ability to translate customer needs into product opportunities.

  • Initiative to drive fact-based decisions, projects and deliver results – demonstrates a ‘can-do’ attitude.

  • Excellent collaboration skills and ability to work in partnership with colleagues within and across organizations.

  • Marketing experience is required.

  • Ability to attend trade shows and investigate product opportunities.

  • Ability to leverage external and internal resources to meet customers’ needs.

  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills and feel at ease communicating regularly with technical and business teams.

  • Adaptable to dynamic and changing environments.

  • Ability to work within a diverse, cross-functional team across multiple sites.

  • Ability to travel up to 25%
