Summary
This role leads and manages a team of Industrial Designers to deliver legendary designs that connect emotionally with our customers, integrating with other Product Development functions throughout the process. They preserve and perpetuate the integrity of the brand and what makes it distinctive, fostering & inspiring creative solutions. In addition, this individual is responsible for the performance management and development of their respective team.
Responsibilities
* Reports to Director of Styling; represents the Studio in process partner meetings that involve creative content as contracted with the Director * Creative lead for a styling team whose work supports delivery of the Life Cycle Plan * Represents the Studio and its point-of-view in all project leadership team meetings * Leads the decision making process for their projects by identifying critical decisions points; makes recommendations for design decisions to the Director of Styling * Coordinates with operations side of the organization to ensure project team has required resources, establish project plans, setup design critiques, etc. * Supports long-term planning activities in support of Life-Cycle Plans * Responsible for performance management and personal development of industrial designers on their team
Ideal Candidate
* This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Design or related degree. Transportation or power sports design experience is beneficial but not required. * The successful candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience in a product design field, with an emphasis on transportation or power sports related industries. * Ability to effectively communicate ideas and design direction with cross-functional teams, adapting communication to the audience * Listens and hears the ideas of others yet has the ability to persuade others when necessary * Provide design feedback in a constructive manner to further the design and the design acumen of the broader organization
