Director Global Creative Design

Oversee all facets of the seasonal design strategy & development process by managing a cross functional team of designers to create original, trend-appropriate design concepts that meet market needs and drive sales; ensure on –budget, on-time quality goods; collaborating with sales to create & execute an appropriate plan; manage and motivate teams.

• Visionary leader that identifies and champions product innovation/technology while maintaining brand heritage and integrity throughout all Men’s apparel, accessories and licensee’s globally.

• Communicate visions and concepts clearly, confidently and strategically to all segments of the Company.

• Leadership role in “Blue Sky” development process, and all Sr. Management leadership roles.

• Genuine passion for identifying future consumer trends by hitting the peak of the trend curve; honed sense of product, performance, and consumers and athlete requirements in driving & designing product.

• Oversee and review development of initial seasonal design concepts in context to larger assortment & cost structure; review and provide perspective on style plans; coordinate among design teams to ensure brand cohesiveness across all categories.

• Proven success identifying trend, color, and silhouette and forecasting current and future state to accurately be a leader in active, performance, & athleisure apparel.

• Leads a team of Sr. Directors/Directors and Designers to create compelling, brand-enhancing product.

• Lead, coach and develop a team of designers, both full time and freelance and strategize staffing needs across categories and brands where appropriate.

• Attract, develop and retain talent; create appropriate succession plans.

• Command of the development cycle and related calendar timelines, and keep the team focused, meeting all deadlines.

• Oversee fit sessions; identify and resolve quality and technical issues.

• Lead design team to develop product to meet all profitability goals.

• Bachelors degree required

• 15 years of experience in the industry

• Domestic and international travel required

• Excellent communication and presentation skills that can present and sell in to all levels internally & externally; communicating a clear and inspiring vision.

• Must be able to lead a group and work well with a team environment.

• Self-starter who brings a level of passion, enthusiasm, and focus to their day to day business & is able to multi-task in a fast paced environment.

• Superior organizational skills; highly detail oriented, meticulous and creative.

• Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, flexible and can manage change.

• Strong problem solving skills.

• Ability to mentor, lead and collaborate with cross functional teams to achieve goals.

• Experience building strategic plans, managing projects and budgets; understanding of global manufacturing and pricing process; manage budget and evaluate ROI on all programs.

• Open minded, great listener and challenge status quo.

• Global experience preferred

• Strong command of: Mac, Illustrator, Photoshop, In Design, Microsoft Office.
