Responsibilities
Pinnacle Fiber Optics is looking for an individual who must be able to understand complex fiber optics theory and translate into practical application for fiber optic interferometric interrogators for distributed sensing applications. The individual will be leading the transfer of current design and future designs from technology to manufacturing. The individual must be proficient with CWI/Matrix and SAP processes to achieve rapid technology transfer and product definition. The individual must be able to train, lead meetings, and communicate ideas. Responsible for design of manufacturing processes, layouts of manufacturing plants, tools, jigs, and assembly lines. Develops new ways to manufacture components, parts, or subassemblies for lower cost or faster delivery of products. Under general supervision, performs all conventional aspects of the functional area subject matter. Devises new approaches to problems encountered. Requires sufficient professional experience to assure competence as a fully trained professional. Plans, schedules, and conducts work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria. Performs work which involves conventional engineering practice but may include a variety of complex features such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials, and difficult coordination requirements. Work requires a broad knowledge of precedents. May provide some technical guidance to designers/drafters and less experienced engineers.
Ideal Candidate
Typical requirements include a BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or Physics and a minimum of 4 years professional experience with strong background in fiber optic systems with greater than 4 years of sustaining Engineering roles, including test and measurement, system manufacturing, and quality processes and including greater than 2 years working with CWI/Matrix and SAP platforms. Certification as a Licensed/Chartered Professional Engineer is preferred.
