Summary
We are looking for an experienced technical training curriculum developer to join our curriculum development team. The team designs, develops and maintains curriculum for Guidewire product training and certification. We’re looking for a professional instructional designer with experience creating technical training for the installation and configuration of enterprise software products, someone who is able to masterfully explain complex technical concepts. The work will include writing technical labs, scripting demonstrations, debugging code solutions, and building Virtual Machine images.
Responsibilities
* Learn the business roles and technical functionality of Guidewire InsuranceNow application * Design, develop, and maintain ILT, VILT, video and eLearning courses. Prepare presentations, examples, evaluations, solutions, labs and demos, and build training Virtual Machine images * Build and maintain good collaborative relationships with engineers, product managers, technical writers, consultants, instructors, and your fellow curriculum developers. * Contribute to improve team processes and standards
Ideal Candidate
* Experience with scripting languages XML, HTML, Java Script, and Velocity. * Familiarity with Java (not a coding job, but must be able to read code, and write Java that will query a database) * Experience working with Java environments like Apache Tomcat and databases like Oracle, SQL Server, or MySQL * Mastery of tools, principles, and best practices for developing technical training course materials. * Experience owning course development projects from beginning to end. * Strong attention to detail * Experience developing for varied delivery approaches: instructor-led (virtual or classroom), and self-paced web-based training * Expertise with office productivity software (MS Word, PowerPoint) and HTML-based web applications * Experience with curriculum development tools such as Captivate, Articulate, Audacity, and/or Camtasia * A flexible, enthusiastic, collaborative work style * A high level of curiosity and interest in technical learning * A strong sense of accountability and self-motivation * An ability to think critically and an aptitude for problem solving; good troubleshooting skills * Experience in or knowledge of Agile project delivery practices * Experience in property and casualty insurance
