Summary
We’re seeking an experienced, data-driven, and creative individual to lead our email marketing, analytics, and onsite acquisition/optimization strategy in a fast-paced startup environment. You will have the opportunity to help grow our onsite and email strategy from soup to nuts. You’ll also collaborate with amazing colleagues to monitor and measure Greatist’s success during a very exciting time of growth. As part of the Digital Marketing team, you will work closely with all teams in the organization including Editorial, Analytics, Brand Partnerships, Product, and Design teams.
Responsibilities
* Oversee user & subscriber lifecycles, including acquisition, onboarding, engagement, and retention/loyalty * Lead redesigns and optimizations of our daily newsletter through thorough analysis and testing to build out a holistic product that serves the needs of all stakeholders * Leverage data and insights from Google Analytics, our ESP (Sailthru), and industry trends to help rethink how we grow and improve our user engagement strategy * Lead the charge on partnership initiatives- including but not limited to content marketing collaborations, sweepstakes, giveaways and events * Identify monetized and organic partnership opportunities via all newsletters (Daily newsletter and dedicated newsletters) * Lead & execute research programs onsite and via newsletter to gain insights, build audience loyalty and strengthen the user experience * Successfully monitor, analyze, and identify changes in daily traffic and engagement, and provide clear, insightful reporting on key performance metrics on a regular basis in order to translate user response data into actionable insights * Plan content for production of our newsletter on a daily basis * Work closely with the product team to identify necessary tools and testing initiatives to improve visitor-to-subscriber/follower conversion rates through onsite optimization, content personalization, and more * Assist in partnerships with just about every major consumer health and wellness brand in a way that's not only big and innovative, but also brand-first and all about building user trust. Ideal Candidate
* 3-5+ years of experience in digital marketing, preferably in Media or Publishing * Experience leveraging site analytics tools (Google Analytics, Omniture, Coremetrics) and ESPs * Knowledge of HTML is plus * Skilled at working with large data sets representing user behavior * Knowledgeable about email marketing with proven experience behind growing a large and engaged newsletter list **The Ideal Candidate** * A healthy obsession with data - a pro at leveraging data to inform decisions * Comfortable working independently and as part of a team * High level of attention to detail but doesn’t lose sight of the big picture * Self starter, highly motivated and a real go-for-it mentality *
