Stockroom Associate

Gordmans is an everyday value priced department store featuring a large selection of name brands and the latest fashions and styles at up to 60 percent off department and specialty store prices. The wide range of merchandise includes apparel and footwear for men, women and children, as well as accessories, home décor, gifts, designer fragrances, fashion jewelry, bedding and bath, accent furniture and toys.

This position is responsible for unloading trucks, opening boxes and distributing merchandise to the appropriate areas to ensure an efficient flow of goods through the stockroom. This position is a part-time role with a schedule that will vary, but will not generally exceed 25 hours per week.

* Must be at work on a regular and predictable basis or as scheduled. * Manually unload the trailers using a pallet jack. * Move pallets of merchandise to the appropriate staging area in the stockroom for additional handling by department sales associates. * Use a broom to sweep the trailer clean. * Load on the trailer all empty pallets, hanger boxes and merchandise for return to the Distribution Center and the trailer is then resealed. * Clean the stockroom to ensure it is effective, organized and free of trash. * Compact vendor boxes. * Break down and flatten reusable Distribution Center boxes; stack on a pallet, secure and return on an empty trailer. * Maintain merchandise fixtures. Assemble, disassemble, move and store merchandise fixtures and parts. * Follow company policies and procedures and maintain a safe work environment.

**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities** * Ability to sufficiently understand the English language in order to communicate with individuals at all levels in the company and with various business contacts outside of the company in an articulate, professional manner and to read shipping manifest, shipping tally, transfer sheets and order forms. * Sufficient physical strength and agility in order to climb ladders, operate a pallet jack and move boxes of merchandise weighing up to 75 pounds. * Visual ability, corrected, to see fixtures and objects on the floor up to 10 yards away. * Sufficient manual dexterity in at least one hand to be able to operate a pallet jack, use hand tools and manually complete required paperwork. * Ability to stand continuously, walk at a reasonable pace and perform essential job functions for up to an eight and one-half hour shift, with two fifteen minute breaks and one-half hour meal break. * Ability to learn and perform all essential job functions accurately with minimal direct supervision within two weeks after beginning work. * Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment background screen. **Education and Qualifications** * High School Diploma preferred. * Prior stockroom experience preferred.
