Count In Associate

Gordmans is an everyday value priced department store featuring a large selection of name brands and the latest fashions and styles at up to 60 percent off department and specialty store prices. The wide range of merchandise includes apparel and footwear for men, women and children, as well as accessories, home décor, gifts, designer fragrances, fashion jewelry, bedding and bath, accent furniture and toys.

This position is responsible for accurately counting and recording all store funds and preparing bank deposits and cash drawer funds. This position is a part-time role with a schedule that will vary, but will not generally exceed 25 hours per week

* Must be at work on a regular and predictable basis or as scheduled. * Count and record all store funds daily. * Prepare bank deposits. * Prepare cash drawer funds. * Verify totals and count receipts. * Detect common signs theft and other security risks involving cash drawers and deposits. Promptly communicate potential problems to store management or loss control. * Follow company policies and procedures and maintain a safe work environment. * Perform other related job duties as assigned by store management

**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities** * Must be able to work early morning shifts. * Ability to sufficiently understand the English language in order to communicate with individuals at all levels in the Company. * Basic mathematical skills, including addition and subtraction, necessary to count and verify funds. * Sufficient manual dexterity in at least one hand to be able to operate all an adding machine. * Ability to sit and continuously perform essential job functions for up to a four and one-half hour shift. * Ability to learn and perform all essential job functions accurately with minimal direct supervision within two weeks after beginning work. * Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment background screen. **Education and Qualifications** * Associate’s Degree preferred. * One year previous cash office experience. * Prior experience in retail preferred.
