Summary
As a Product Analyst on the Google Play Analytics team, you will be working with multiple stakeholders across Play to define key metrics and deliver insightful analyses focused on understanding how to grow our global user base. These analyses will help drive better business decisions which increase Play store performance across both the Apps and Digital Content verticals. You will be responsible for translating data into meaningful interpretations and recommendations and, where relevant, directly implement process improvements. The metrics and analyses you develop will serve as a key input in product development and operations decision-making. You will work collaboratively with several teams within Play (e.g., Engineering, Product Management (PM), Business Development, Merchant, Operations) as well as with teams outside of Play such as Legal, Finance and Marketing teams.
Responsibilities
* Lead analysis for Play, focusing on understanding user behavior and product usage across all Play verticals. * Partner with PM and other Play teams to provide product insights ultimately leading to improved performance and user experience. * Work with Engineering to create new data pipelines to ensure the right dimensions and metrics are used for business guidance. * Act as a thought partner for various business stakeholders across Play.
Ideal Candidate
* BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience. * 3 years of experience as an analyst or in an analytical role. * Experience analyzing datasets, working with data visualization tools and creating dashboards. * Experience with data querying (SQL type languages) and experience with data analysis languages (R, SAS, Python, MATLAB). **Preferred qualifications** * MS degree in engineering, business or other quantitative majors. * Experience working with large and expansive datasets/data warehouses and ability to build pipelines using relevant languages. * Strong business acumen and experience with detailed datasets to build out analysis answering business questions. * Proven experience in identifying opportunities for business improvement and defining/measuring the success of those initiatives. * Solid business knowledge and understanding of online App store dynamic. A basic understanding of Android and Play ecosystem. * Strong communication and presentation skills to deliver findings of analysis to senior audiences.
