As a Hardware Engineer, you design and build the systems that are the heart of Google’s consumer hardware products. You develop from the lowest levels of circuit design to large system design and see those systems all the way through to high volume manufacturing.
Responsibilities
* Take ownership of the end to end dynamic range performance of wireless interfaces, with a particular focus on sensitivity. * Be a key contributor to the layout of PCB designs beyond the RF domain for optimized sensitivity and RF performance. * Act as a gatekeeper to ensure that RF/desense issues are well tested and addressed during the product design cycle. * Design tests and direct more junior engineers and technicians.
Ideal Candidate
**Minimum qualifications** * MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or equivalent practical experience. * 5 years of hands-on RF experience. **Preferred qualifications** * 5 years of relevant work experience. * Experience with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, LTE, GPS and other common consumer electronics wireless technologies. * Strong RF test, debug and layout experience in the 700 MHz to 6 GHz range, to understand RFI, desense, spurious emissions, etc. * Experience using lab equipment including Wi-Fi testers, Cellular call boxes, GPS testers, signal generators, VNAs, spectrum analyzers, load-pull tuners, antenna chambers, etc. * Knowledgeable of RF circuit design and PCB layout including ConceptHDL, Orcad, PADS and Allegro with particular regard to minimizing RFI and Desense issues.
