Summary
The Lead ETL Developer is responsible for extracting data from various sources, transforming the data, and loading it to the Data Warehouse or other system (ETL). The Lead ETL Developer will develop, maintain, and support the enterprise data warehouse system, corresponding data marts, and data interfaces between operational systems. This team member will analyze and review complex object and data models and the metadata repository in order to structure the processes and data for better management and efficient access. The Lead ETL Developer will be competent to perform at the highest level in all areas of data loading technologies and techniques.
Responsibilities
* Execute complex data loading techniques for Data Warehouse and System Integration projects. * Write complex SQL code and mappings to extract, transform, and load data ensuring compatibility with all tables and customer specifications with limited supervision. * Implement best practices, standards, and procedures to encourage team consistency, efficiency, and maintainability. * Lead the creation, execution, and organization of sessions, monitoring load times and rearranging processes to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the loading process. * Work with various levels of project managers, data modelers, software developers, and system administrators to design load processes and identify potential problem areas in source systems. * Work with internal business clients to solve data integrity issues and ensure timely data availability. * Collaborate with the data modeling team to understand, interpret, and implement the most complex data warehouse requirements. * Assist DBAs with managing and organizing database objects, understanding need for constant size management and infrastructure analysis. * Perform data load monitoring and problem resolution. Take action to resolve recurring issues. **Other Important Duties** * Guide and assist less experienced developers with complex data warehousing tasks. * Perform other related duties as assigned. **Reporting Relationship** * Direct Reports: None
Ideal Candidate
**Knowledge** * Comprehensive understanding and working knowledge in Data Warehouse loading, tuning, and maintenance. * Advanced understanding of Informatica, SQL, Oracle and/or similar tools. * Working knowledge of relational database theory and dimensional database models. **Skills** * Good oral and written communication skills. * Advanced analytical and problem solving skills. * Proficiency with Informatica or related tools, with an ability to write complex SQL database queries. * Ability to multi-task and organize projects. * Ability to work independently. **Experience** * Bachelors degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or equivalent work experience required. * Four years overall experience in Data Warehouse ETL.

Working Conditions

Normal office environment. Position requires after hours on call support, occasional overtime, and possible travel.
