Summary
We’re looking for an accomplished leader who is able to blend deep technical engineering expertise with an energizing leadership style. The goal is to have you lead 10 highly capable software engineers (2 teams of 5 engineers), you must be able to motivate and inspire the team to overcome obstacles and deliver highly scalable, state-of-the-art technology solutions.

Ideal Candidate
* 8+ years hands-on technical management coupled with software engineering experience * At least 5 years experience at a rapidly growing startup, or leading cutting edge teams at a larger tech company, ideally you have hands-on experience building systems and technology for a marketplace. * Up to 20% "Hands-on" development in addition to management. * Experience in complex cloud based software systems written in a modern language and JS framework; understanding of data structures, algorithms, software architectures, and API’s. * Lead the growth and development of teams (5-10+) of talented and motivated engineers with high expectations around individual ownership and impact * Established metrics and process for employee assessment and improvement * Establish a solid project framework and excellent development processes. * Provide technical leadership and guidance to both your team members and your project peers. * Experience setting clear expectations and create a positive work environment based on accountability, in collaboration with the engineering and management teams * Experience setting direction for the team, anticipate strategic and scaling-related challenges via thoughtful long-term planning * Experience leading a team working with a large legacy front-end application, successfully adding new features, and having experienced one or more of the following: * Experience with DOM performance, building jank-free UIs with a large number of DOM nodes. * Expert in SVG, canvas, and WebGL, at least 1 drawing app or project * Experience in at least 2 front-end frameworks * Experience tracking down memory leaks in a large application * Experience working on an offline-enabled app * WebAssembly/Emscripten/asm.js
