Summary
he Professional Services team at GitHub focuses on helping customers successfully get started and grow with GitHub. The Services Engineer is a combined consulting services and customer training role. We're looking for an amazing individual who loves to connect with people and help them solve problems with GitHub. GitHub is an amazing platform that can revolutionize the way organizations work. We want to help our customers by giving them a great experience from the very beginning of their use of the platform. Candidates must have authorization to work in the US for this role and be willing to spend up to 50% of their time traveling to and at client sites.
Responsibilities
* Help organizations implement and expand their GitHub usage. * Work with customers on-site and remotely to get started on the GitHub platform. * Setup GitHub Enterprise and connecting to the customers' infrastructure * Educate customers about the GitHub workflow through hands on demonstration * Develop and update internal and external tools and materials to aid customers in their use of the GitHub platform * Develop documentation in collaboration with the customer for ongoing onboarding and utlization of GitHub
Ideal Candidate
* Experience with Git, GitHub, and modern software development tools and methodologies * Software development experience and an understanding of: software development methodologies (Agile, waterfall), project management tools (JIRA, Pivotal Tracker, Kanban), continuous integration tools (Jenkins, TravisCI), team collaboration tools (HipChat, Slack, Basecamp), and developer environments (Eclipse, VisualStudio) * Infrastructure experience configuring or using these technologies: centralized authentication (LDAP, ActiveDirectory, SAML) and virtual infrastructure (VMware, ESXi) * Demonstrated ability to connect with people, lead client projects, and help clients solve problems with GitHub * Strong ability to manage client expectations and project scope before and during client engagements
