Senior Analyst

GitHub is looking to hire the first Senior Analyst for our Strategic Finance & Business Operations team. The successful candidate will report directly to the Head of Strategic Finance & Business Operations, and play an integral role in building out this high-impact team as one of its founding members. The team is involved in the decision making process of all major strategic initiatives and will work closely with executives across the company.

As one of the first hires on the team, you will need to be flexible and willing to wear many different hats. Some of the things you may work on include, but are not limited to: * Building and owning the company financial model, which includes: * Accurately forecasting our different revenue streams * Establishing efficient and scalable processes to budget expenses for teams across the company, as well as doing monthly/quarterly report-outs to hold teams accountable * Determine the key metrics we should be tracking and create dashboards that are useful and easy to understand for the entire company * Help the sales team scale successfully by determining an effective sales compensation structure, and ensuring the unit economics are healthy * Work with the marketing team to successfully acquire users by optimizing resource allocation, improving conversion rates, and lowering acquisition costs * Help the product and engineering orgs determine our product roadmap by evaluating the market opportunity of potential new products, identifying features that increase user acquisition/stickiness, and driving ARPU growth through add-on products that are synergistic with existing offerings * Work with product marketing on how to price and position existing and upcoming product offerings * Provide business analytic horsepower to help drive initiatives that are critical to the ongoing growth of our company * Provide financial modeling, financial analysis and valuation support for acquisitions, strategic partnerships, new product development, and other ad-hoc financial projects * Prepare and present financial analyses to the company, senior management, and Board of Directors as required

**Requirements:** * Bachelor’s degree and at least 2-4 years of relevant work experience preferably at a leading investment bank, private equity or consulting firm * Financial modeling wizard comfortable working with extremely large data sets * Sound business acumen and exceptional problem solving skills demonstrating the ability to understand key drivers of the business * Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to build trust and effectively influence your business partners * A strong team player and self starter who has the ability to work cross-functionally and deliver in a fast paced and constantly evolving environment * Desire to help recruit and build the best strategic finance and business operations team in Silicon Valley * Must be legally authorized to work in the United States **Preferred qualifications:** * Experience with SQL is a plus, or at least the willingness to learn * Experience with any of the following is a plus: Keynote, Netsuite, SFDC, Google Analytics, marketing automation (i.e. Marketo/Eloqua), Tableau, etc. * Solid understanding of and the ability to model the key drivers of a SaaS business
