Summary
Collaborate with Jewelry Manufacturing Arts (JMA) team members as subject specialist for development of new and revised educational products for Jewelry Manufacturing Arts (JMA) courses, including on-campus and eLearning programs.
Responsibilities
* Develop new course content from the initial outline to the final product using GIA methods and techniques. * Design and render sample pieces utilizing CAD modeling software such as Rhino and Matrix, and rendering software such as V-Ray. * Prototype sample pieces utilizing CAM hardware such as 3D printers and create specification sheets for students based on the prototype measurements. * Assist in the selection or development of images and video that enhance the learning/teaching process. * Participate in the video recording of specific CAD skills to be included in the course content. * Maintain positive, proactive attitude when receiving and providing feedback on video content, and implement requested changes. * In collaboration with the QA, Development and Leadership teams, review instructor written and verbal feedback, classroom projects, student assessments, and quality assurance benchmarking results and identify areas needing further content development or reinforcement. * Support and assist classroom instructors with lectures and demonstrations on specific topics. * Serve as a substitute instructor on an as-needed basis. * Evaluate instruction and student response during classroom presentations to confirm educational project format is working as intended. * As assigned, research and provide new development relevant to JMA course content, and attend training and conferences to further industry knowledge and subject matter expertise. * Other duties as assigned.
Ideal Candidate
**Technical Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)** * In-depth knowledge of jewelry manufacturing industry with interest in further skill development to demonstrate a command of theory and contemporary knowledge. * Skilled CAD specialist, including experience using current versions of jewelry-specific CAD software for custom designs. * Strong computer skills utilizing software such as Microsoft Office Suite, e.g., MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint; and e-mail. * Strong CAD CAM software and operational skills utilizing Rhino, Matrix, V-Ray, T-Splines and others. * Highly organized with a strong attention to detail. * Excellent grammar, written and verbal communication skills. * Ability to collaborate with a variety of personalities to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships. * Ability to multi-task and juggle multiple projects at once. **Education and Experience:** * High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of three years related practical jewelry industry experience required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred. * CAD/CAM ability required, including current versions of Rhino and/or Matrix. * Jewelry Design & Technology diploma preferred. * Experience in education and/or training preferred. **Physical Requirements/ Work Environment** (if applicable) * Work is performed in a designated professional office workstation and environment. * Extensive use of office equipment to include computer, calculator, copier, fax, and other business related machines and software.
