Summary
GLG is seeking an entrepreneurial client service professional to join our Telecom Research team in New York, New York. Research Managers in our Telecom practice work directly to support and manage research inquiries coming from telecom service, equipment and infrastructure companies based in the US and Canada. Research Managers support and facilitate customized research solutions based upon our Telecom clients’ needs, creating innovative solutions on each client assignment. In addition, they partner with Business Development colleagues to pitch and onboard new client accounts. Research Managers have the opportunity to grow key client relationships and make a real commercial impact on GLG’s broader Technology & Services business.
Responsibilities
* **Facilitating educational interactions** between members of the GLG expert network and our clients, to enable our clients to make more informed and more confident business decisions. Research Managers are tasked with fulfilling time sensitive research requests by analyzing client requests, and building and qualifying primary populations of subject matter experts. Most GLG client–expert interactions consist of telephone consultations but also may consist of surveys, research travel programs, and in-depth engagements. * **Content Development:** Build and maintain a substantive knowledge of relevant trends in the telecom sector. Assist with event programming and product development to better serve clients in this sector. * **Enhancing the GLG Councils.** Develop relationships with GLG’s most respected thought leaders in the Telecom sector, as well as recruit new senior executives and leading consultants into the GLG Councils through research, networking, and direct outreach. * **Growing GLG client relationships.** Develop relationships with GLG clients and understand how sophisticated Telecom companies address complex, global business challenges. This relationship development will stem from in-person client meets, project execution, and telephone interactions. * **Team-wide collaboration.** Work collaboratively with sales and research colleagues to ensure the growth and success of our highest priority clients. As with any senior facing position in a GLG client office, Research Managers are expected to help mentor and manage junior colleagues.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor's degree or higher from a Top 20 University; * 4+ years experience in related industry * Strong, demonstrated interest in the Technology or Telecom space * The ability to build strong and lasting relationships with key decision makers in client firms * Ability to work well independently and be self-motivated * A strong passion for persuasion, especially around complicated and intellectually challenging issues * Excellent verbal and writing skills * Proven business communication skills
