Maintenance Mechanic

Gerdau is present in the daily life of millions of people, through steel products used in the civil construction, industrial, agribusiness and automotive sectors.

• Diagnose, repair, lubricate, reassemble, and otherwise perform general maintenance activities.
• Follow through with the location’s preventive/predicative maintenance programs, including inspecting, adjusting, cleaning, and/or lubricating equipment.
• Develop and fabricate accessory fixtures or guards for machines and equipment. Adjust machine mechanisms such as feed, speed, power input, or output.
• Report complex repairs, defective material, improper operation, and unusual conditions or questions to supervisor.
• Repair portable power tools.
• Communicate with and order parts and/or services from Gerdau contractors/vendors
• Remain current in technical changes or equipment designs by attending classes or participating in company training programs.
• Maintain records of work performed, details of repairs, and material usage.
• Maintain and service overhead cranes.
• Work in heights of up to 40 feet.

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Ability to perform basic mathematical equations in an industrial setting
• 2 years of work experience in manufacturing or industrial position
• Experience with hand tools and shop tools
• Willing to work at heights up to 40 feet
• Must be self-starter and be motivated to work in industrial setting.
• Successful completion of pre-employment maintenance test
