Motor Controls Engineer

General Motors Company, which is commonly known as GM, is an American multinational corporation headquartered in Detroit, Michigan, that designs, manufactures, markets and distributes vehicles and vehicle parts and sells financial services

Responsible for development of algorithms for electric traction motors and power electronics for hybrid and electric vehicle applications.

• Develop control algorithms for AC electric machines and 3-phase switching power converters

• Perform simulation and analysis of electric drive and high voltage power electronics

• Plan and perform algorithm development and/or verification in dynamometer facility and on hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) or software-in-the-loop (SIL) systems

• BSEE

• At least one year experience with either, motor controls, power electronics, AC/DC drive systems or a combination of

• At least one year of experience with of AC electric machine operating principles and of 3-phase switching power converter topologies

• Minimum five years of engineering experience in related area

• Understanding of digital controls of 3-phase switching power converters and AC electric machines

• Ability to follow algorithms coded in C and C++ programming languages

• Experience in using Matlab/Simulink

Preferred

• MS in Electrical Engineering or PhD Electrical Engineering

• Experience in development, testing and/or modeling and simulations of electric drives

• Knowledge of electric machine and high voltage power electronics design fundamentals
