Summary
The GE Ventures Strategic Marketing Director - Energy position will drive strategic marketing efforts for complex projects with multiple internal and external stakeholders. Leadership efforts will involve opportunity and market assessments, strategic recommendations, risk analysis, stakeholder engagement plans, brand development, operational impact and execution, and customer/partner engagement.
Responsibilities
* Explore and assess markets, trends, customers and competitors associated with specified Ventures investment theses, New Business Creation concepts and/or IP commercialization opportunities (Licensing) * Be able to initiate projects with limited information – be comfortable with uncertainty * Understand the strategies and product offerings of the energy related GE business units * Assess white space opportunities and influence GE businesses, GE Global Research and the GE Ventures team to expand their thinking/strategy development into relevant areas – authoring white papers * Coordinate and communicate market assessments, market analysis, risks to GE, implications to GE Ventures and recommendations for the program * Develop partner relationships both internally and externally that can assist in segment evaluations and insights into growing and/or disruptive forces in healthcare * Work closely with GE Ventures senior leadership team and insure project deliverables are delivered on-time and with clear and thorough recommendations * Work closely with GE Ventures marketing teams to insure cross-platform consistency in marketing deliverables.
Ideal Candidate
**Qualifications/Requirements:** * Minimum 10 yrs. experience in Energy related marketing, market research, marketing operations or project management. * Experience in leading in a matrix-based organization. * Experience in coordinating diverse external and internal partners on complex, strategic initiatives. * A high level of executive presence. * Experience in process excellence to insure sustainable program operations. * Excellent ability to manage sensitive topics and communications across all levels of the organization. * Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail. * Exceptional communication skills * - demonstrated ability to digest complex information into a clear message.Eligibility Requirements: * MUST submit application for employment through COS (internal candidates) or www.gecareers.com (external candidates) to be considered for this position. * MUST be at least 18 years of age. * MUST be willing to comply with pre-employment screening, including but not limited to, drug testing, reference verification and background check. * MUST be willing to travel up to 30% of the time * Legal authorization to work in the United States is required.
