**Responsibilities for this Position:** General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) is seeking a Senior Operations Specialist at our Scottsdale, Arizona Paint Facility. The Senior Operation Specialist will provide paint, conformal coat, product labeling, and screen printing support to Engineering and Manufacturing groups. GDMS’ Senior Operation Specialists collaborate with customers to develop existing and new processes for improved productivity. The successful candidate must be able to read and interpret drawings, specifications, write process procedures, in addition to having strong organizational skills. Major tasks include, but are not limited to: - Applies Military and Aerospace paint systems in accordance with applicable specifications, industry standards and material data sheets - Applies Conformal coating application, including cleaning, masking and mixing of multi-component materials - Mixes coatings as described on tech data sheets according to manufacturer’s directions - Uses HVLP spray guns, air brush, roller and/or sponges to apply paint or other coatings - Prepares surfaces as required by specifications - Fills out required documentation and forms to record profile and finish thickness checks in accordance with specifications - Requisitions new painting supplies and equipment - Creates Computer Generate Artwork, Pre-press, process screens, machine setup, screen-print various metal and plastic parts - Processes Metal photo labels - Works with hazardous materials that include Acids, Paints, Solvents and Inks - Uses computer software programs such as Corel Draw, Adobe Illustrator, and Gerber Omega. Ability to, match or detect differences between colors, including shades of color and brightness and see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer)

**Basic Qualifications:** The successful Senior Operations Specialist will possess a bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline or equivalent experienced required. In addition, a minimum of 5 years related experience required. S/he must have: - NESHAP 6H - Surface Coating Painter Training certification - ESD and Oven use certified - the ability to meet strict deadlines is necessary - the ability to work overtime is mandatory when needed - the ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs, such as, lifting, stooping, handling of materials and standing for long periods of time - knowledge and understanding of Company paint specifications for required finishes - knowledge of dry booth painting - knowledge of proper surface preparation prior to painting - knowledge of painting equipment used - demonstrated interpersonal skills to cooperate and work effectively with others - the ability to understand complex drawings, work orders and Bill of Materials (BOMs) - the ability to evaluate work conditions and quality of work produced In addition, s/he must possess experience using computer software programs such as Corel Draw, Adobe Illustrator, and Gerber Omega. Ability to, match or detect differences between colors, including shades of color and brightness and see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer). Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required. **Qualifications (Preferred):** Knowledge of shop floor control systems and Data Collection systems such as Orion will be considered a plus
