Summary
This position will own two major, survey-driven client research projects: (1) the RB's annual Member Profile, which examines spending, staffing, and structural trends in the world's largest IT organizations; and (2) the annual Supplier Performance Review, in which members rate their experiences with their largest, most strategic IT vendors. The role will be responsible for all aspects of executing and evolving these projects, including development and refinement of survey questions, outreach to ensure member engagement with the surveys, analysis of data generated via the surveys, development of a written report on survey results, and delivery of the survey results to multiple audiences including the RB's CIO clients and executives at major IT vendors.
Responsibilities
* The senior analyst's research primarily will be survey-driven; however, he or she will also collaborate with internal colleagues to understand how survey results mesh with other RB research and to test and iterate hypotheses; analyse secondary research; and conduct primary research through interviews and other networking opportunities with clients, vendors, and analysts. * The senior analyst will develop two provocative and defensible member deliverables per year. Toward this end, he or she will perform statistical and semantic analysis of survey data, synthesize survey data and other sources of information (cases, reports, peer input), apply conceptual models, recognize patterns, and draw and defend conclusions. * The senior analyst will create presentation content for CIO clients and executives at major IT vendors and lead discussions of survey findings among a variety of audiences and in a variety of formats (in-person meetings, video conferences, phone calls). * Build and maintain relationships with technology vendors, academics, VCs, and other external parties. * Manage and execute broad and complex responsibilities, often with conflicting time demands.
Ideal Candidate
* 6-10 years relevant experience required (e.g., as a research professional, in the technology practice of a consultancy, in the IT or sourcing organization of an enterprise, as a product manager for a vendor, as a financial industry analyst with knowledge of a specific technology, etc.). * Excellent writing and presentation skills required. Experience creating client-facing written and presentation content highly desired. * Strong statistics background highly desired. * Experience with the key strategic issues facing top IT management is highly desirable. This includes, for example, the digital transformation of businesses, the strategic role of data and analytics in large enterprises, the imperative of securing information assets, the complexity of deploying and maintaining large-scale IT systems, sourcing strategies and the evolution of the supplier lifecycle. * Bachelor’s degree required, Masters preferred.
