Summary
Gartner is recruiting for a candidate with experience in U.S. Public Healthcare Payer specific expertise, applications and technologies to support government sponsored/managed health programs such as Medicare/Medicaid for US Federal and State Payer Programs and Private Healthcare Payers offering services to support such programs. As a Research Director, the candidate will collaborate with other team members to identify and research areas and topics of significant research interest and need in the Public and Private Healthcare Payer industry. The selected candidate will advise Gartner clients on a wide variety of technical and management issues. This individual must be familiar with the processes, drivers and challenges to government healthcare program application strategy, and the activity cycles surrounding the deployment and implementation of technologies supporting government sponsored healthcare programs. The ideal candidate will also be knowledgeable about use cases related and the implications of these programs for healthcare administration, care management, and compliance applications, service partners, and impact on other healthcare payers and providers. The analyst will have strong technical skills, but must also be able to address some of the management and policy challenges of public healthcare programs within Healthcare. The candidate must be willing to travel and address client inquiries across many time zones.
Responsibilities
**This Research Director position includes the following specific tasks:** * Prepare thought-leading, actionable written research, working in a peer review structure. * Support inquiries from clients across multiple time zones. * Speak at Gartner or other conferences as a subject-matter expert. * Demonstrate skill at analysis - seeking out and piecing together fragments of information, extrapolating, building and applying conceptual models, recognizing patterns and drawing conclusions from partial data. * Attend vendor briefings, vendor events, client meetings or exhibitions as required to further Gartners research position. * Assist other parts of Gartner when required, for example: sales support; support to Gartners separate consulting division. **Coverage could include but is not limited to:** * Implications of the Strategies, Objectives and Implications of government programs on the healthcare market (trends, drivers, incentives, reforms, measurements, unique requirements, mandates, regulation, compliance needs, etc.) * Technology solutions and strategies that improve administration, servicing, health management, performance, of government sponsored health programs where government acts as sponsor, payer. * Solutions for common problems and pain points associated with these programs and related IT solution components (Program integrity, fraud-waste-abuse detection, compliance, Compliance requirements for participation, Program communications, rollout, enrolment, and servicing) * Performance and quality management of services (e.g. Medicare STAR Ratings ) * Improving performance through IT enabled solutions * Information Technology innovation initiatives such as CMS State Innovation Models Initiative * Federal Government Healthcare Programs (Medicare Coverage Eligibility, Medicare Parts A,B ; Medicare Advantage Part D, Tri Care (VA) ) * Case Management * Vendors supporting technologies unique to support Public Healthcare programs
Ideal Candidate
* 7-10 years of recent experience in the Medicare/Medicaid space * 5 to 10 years of IT experience * Knowledge and experience with Govt reporting and program support requirements * Understanding of CMS processes, plans, strategies, regulations, and IT needs * Understanding of IT needs of State Healthcare programs and initiatives * Excellent verbal and writing skills * Knowledge of vendors in this market * Ability to compare and contrast vendor offerings * Contract review experience * Excellent analytical skills * US location * Bachelors Degree required Masters degree or higher preferred
