Gartner is looking for a well-rounded Senior Development Manager who can provide leadership for .NET and Java teams for Gartner’s Events business.
- The candidate will be the Chief Technologist for the team which runs Gartner Events customer facing web sites, mobile applications and vendor integrations.
- These include Events Attendee Web Applications, Events Marketing Applications, Vendor applications, Mobile applications, Event Kiosks and integration with back office applications.
- The candidate will be directly responsible for leading a team of C# developers to develop and maintain Gartner Events premier customer-facing web properties.
- The candidate will work with Vendors and other internal teams to provide a full suite of solutions for Gartner’s Events business.
- The ideal candidate will be someone who has worked closely with business partners, has played a key role in building/supporting a customer-facing website, has strong vendor management experience and has demonstrable experience innovating with technology to meet business needs.
Technology Skills:
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience building ASP.NET and C# based external facing web applications. Must be able to support and build Java based applications from a leadership and management standpoint.
- Strong knowledge and implementation experience in C#, Visual Studio, XML and Subversion
- Strong understanding of front end technology skills (HTML, JavaScript, CSS, AJAX, Angular JS, etc)
- Strong Microsoft SQL Server Database Design/Development skills from an application development standpoint.
- Strong foundation in web application security and managing security across vendor integrations.
- Strong MVC paradigm experience
- Web server: IIS, Operating System: Microsoft Windows Server Enterprise
- Must have strong Web and Mobile Device UI and usability knowledge as well as best-practice skills that include an understanding of globalization and localization
- Candidate will be doing extensive UI feature brainstorming with the business users
- Experience using wireframe and story boarding applications
- Knowledge and experience in building high-performance web sites taking into account a client base which is multi-lingual and dispersed throughout the world
- Demonstrable experience innovating with technology
- Experience integrating with internal Search engines, development/management of web services, managing mobile applications.
Operational Skills:
- Should be able to balance operational and development needs of Gartner Event’s primary web site.
- Should be able to interact well with both internal associates and external clients in resolving operational issues.
- Identify systemic operational issues and resolve them as well as identifying root causes and process improvements to present similar issues
- Must be willing to travel to some of our major events around the world for up to 2-3 weeks at a time. Total travel for year is 10-15%
