Responsibilities
The Electro-mechanical Assembler is a critical member of Garmat’s assembly of their paint cabins. This person is responsible for performing specialized assembly and testing of control panels for heated air make up units. They will also wire and assemble control panels, operate equipment such as hand tools and diagnostic hardware. The technician will also read schematics and wiring diagrams, maintain good housekeeping practices and request material and supplies from the stockroom. In this position, the Electro-mechanical Assembler will learn directly from the Assembly Lead and eventually back up this role. Additional Responsibilities: - Conduct final assembly of makeup air units which includes mounting electrical panel, mounting and piping of gas-train, final wiring including the panel, motor, burner, gas-train, and so on - Make critical business decisions that contribute to success of the business - Test makeup air unit which consists of being able to read a schematic and understand the operational logistics, use a computer for programming of industrial controls, trouble-shoot and correct problems with the control system and document testing procedures and results. - Product phone support - Cross-train with other areas within assembly department - Panel wiring - Gas train assembly and sub-assembly preparation - Other duties as assigned
Ideal Candidate
- 2+ years of production or mechanical related experience (including mechanical assembly of housing unit, basic plumbing, fabrication and wiring of controls) - Mechanical and troubleshooting skills - Ability to lift 50 lbs - Be able to work independently and be depended upon by upper management - Good manual dexterity and ability to read written instructions/directions - Ability to learn and read electrical schematics - High School Diploma or GED equivalent - Willingness and ability to work overtime and occasional weekend shifts (shift is Monday through Friday, 6:30 am to 3:00 pm)
