Senior Android Developer

Fuzz is an award-winning mobile product agency. We have launched over 300 apps, by using multidisciplinary teams, working together in agile sprints. Our apps are used daily by millions of consumers around the world, across iOS, Android and Web.

Fuzz Productions seeks an Android Developer to join our ongoing quest to create the most epic, innovative mobile solutions around. We need someone who can hit the ground running, taking on multiple projects for some very large clients.

We’re looking for experienced Android developers with proven chops building Android apps and work experience with multi-developer projects. In this role at Fuzz, you will help lead and shape Android apps covering a vast array of functionality for a variety of companies, from start-ups to the Fortune 100, working with experienced designers, engineers, project managers and QA professionals in a challenging, stimulating startup environment.

Responsibilities:

• Work with Producers and other team members to gather requirements, determine development strategy, and estimate project velocity.
• Work with embedded Designers, QA, and SDETs to ensure engineering deliverables meet conditions of satisfaction.
• Collaborate with fellow Engineers for engineering strategy and architecture.
• Collaborate with web development teams to make sure enterprise service development properly supports our mobile strategy.
• Develop new application components and maintain the applications as a whole.
• Analyze and optimize application components for performance, stability, and device resource usage.
• Research emerging technologies (proprietary and open source) for possible adoption
• Operate in and contribute to a tightly knit team environment where everyone is a winner
• Grow to manage a team of developers

Requirements

• BS/BA in Computer Science or a related field, or demonstrate a solid foundation in software development
• At least 2+ years of solid experience in the field
• Ability to communicate clearly and keep us informed of your progress
• Adherence to schedules and deadlines
• Very good understanding of Java and Android lifecycle, garbage collection, and design patterns
• Demonstrable portfolio of Android apps you have worked on
• Experience targeting multiple Android devices (handset and tablet) from multiple manufacturers and across all OS versions
• Experience with HTTP and REST web services
• Experience debugging an Android app, including but not limited to: DDMS, Traceview, and Draw9 debugging
