Summary
Apply Now We are seeking a Payments Operations Manager to join the expanding Finance team. The Finance team is critical to managing the flow of funds for Funding Circle’s small business online lending marketplace. In this role, you will provide daily operational support to process payments between borrowers and investors, perform daily reconciliations between systems and cash, and assist in developing and streamlining the daily operations to enhance controls and mitigate risk.
Responsibilities
* Provide daily operational support for contributions and distributions of funds to and from borrowers and investors via ACH, wires and checks * Perform daily reconciliation between systems and cash transactions, and review and resolve exceptions as they arise * Create and document cash-related controls to enhance controls and mitigate risk * Build streamlined and scalable treasury processes and procedures to support rapid growth * Work closely with product, technology, and operations to support new business initiatives and other payments related requests and projects * Assist in corporate liquidity management and cash forecasting * Role will manage team of 2 people, but will largely be a hands-on, collaborative team member
Ideal Candidate
* 4-6 years of relevant experience in payments and treasury operations * Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related Business discipline; MBA a plus * A strong understanding of financial and operational controls * Analytical and inquisitive mindset with keen attention to detail * Excellent project management skills and proven ability to build and implement scalable processes * Strong Excel knowledge and aptitude (i.e. Vlookup & Pivot Tables) * A team player who can problem solve and is able to work on a variety of projects simultaneously * A strong work ethic, enjoy getting your “hands dirty,” and excel in a fast-paced environment * Strong verbal and written communication skills * Must be self-directed and able to work independently **Brownie points for:** * Fintech, lending or other financial services experience * Experience with payments management systems and data reporting / analytics tools * Technical aptitude and/or experience developing systems
